The President of Victim Support Europe, David McKenna, sadly passed away

By August 13, 2015February 1st, 2021News

It is with great sadness that we have to let you know that our President, and good friend, David McKenna passed away last Friday morning with his family around him. Over the last few months David had been told he had cancer again and this had spread quite rapidly.

The funeral service for David will be held at Linn Crematorium, Glasgow, at 2pm on Friday, August 14, 2015. The family have asked for no flowers but would welcome donations to The Princess of Wales Hospice, Glasgow. The Rev Ian Currie, a long-serving Victim Support Scotland volunteer and a former Chair of the Executive Board, will officiate.

He will be remembered by us all with great fondness; a man passionate in his work to help victims and indefatigable in his efforts to improve their lives across Europe and beyond. His indomitable spirit, charm, wit and intelligence persuaded people from all corners of the world to act on behalf of victims. He will be greatly missed as our colleague and friend, but we believe he will continue to inspire us to help change the situation of victims everywhere.

Our thoughts are with everyone at this sad time.
