In order to continue the work carried out by the State Secretariat for Victim Assistance after the May 2017 presidential election, Juliette Méadel created a General Secretariat for Victim Assistance, an inter-ministerial administration attached directly to the Prime Minister .
Its missions will include:
– to coordinate the action of the ministries in the follow-up and accompanying of all the victims (attacks, collective accidents, natural disasters, health accidents, other criminal offenses …)
– to improve victim support systems, in an emergency and over a period of time,
– to develop the digital tool necessary for the establishment of a shared list of victims,
– to extend the action taken at the International Conference for Victims’ Aid, organized on 9 January 2017 at Unesco.
French Victims with their local association “Remaid” are organising a National conference in Valence in the South of France. This 31st edition will take place on 22 and 23 June 2017 on the theme: “Violence at work: prevention and action – Towards a coordination of actors”.
The day before,  on June 21, the General Assembly of INAVEM will take place and there they will propose to their members  a change of their name in “France Victimes”.
