The White Circle of Croatia Association was founded in April 2011 as a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political organization with headquarters in Split. The primary goal of the Association is to protect victims of crime and offenses with elements of violence regardless of age and gender. The White Circle provides legal, psychological and emotional support to victims, conducts individual treatment with victims to reduce secondary victimization, conducts victim empowerment workshops, collaborates with institutions to improve victim position, and implements child and youth violence prevention projects.
Special emphasis in the work of the Association is on the protection of victims of domestic violence, but also on the protection of other marginalized groups.
So far, the Association has organized and implemented several projects whose content was:
-providing legal and psychological assistance to victims of crime and offenses with elements of violence
-providing assistance to foreign tourists as victims of crime
-providing assistance to women victims of domestic violence and training them in employment and economic independence,
-prevention of peer violence (civic education in schools and other education)
-support for witnesses in court proceedings – providing assistance to the elderly (providing legal assistance in concluding lifetime and lifetime maintenance contracts and protection against other fraudulent acts)
-psycho-social treatment of perpetrators of domestic violence outside healthcare facilities
-a measure of intense control over the meetings and socializing of parents with children.
